Bye Bye Auburn Tully's

Over the weekend, my favorite coffee shop closed it's doors for good. I have been so sad about the Auburn Tully's closing and I will miss the fun baristas, Christina and Lindsay, and the yummy drinks they make. I started going to Tully's when Todd started school and got to know so many other fun mamas over our morning drinks that turned into hour long playdates next to the toy box.
Last Friday, after I ordered my Grande matcha tea, I was lamenting the fact that I won't be able to get my yummy matcha powder teas anywhere else in the area. Where would I go for the yummy summer teas Christina creates? After she made my hot drink, she gave me two iced teas to enjoy. I loved each drop!

Bald Eagle Festival

Jacy and I loaded everyone up in the car (kids, us, Nan and great-grandparents) to see bald eagles in Rockport, Washington. We were hoping to see tons of eagles eating the remains of salmon that end up in Rockport at this time of year. Unfortunately, we didn't see too many eagles, but the drive was gorgeous and we had a great lunch at my fave restaurant in Mt. Vernon. I was amused the next week to see a large eagle resting in a tree near Todd's school. He sat in the tree while I turned the car around to show the 6 kiddos in my car how close we were to such an incredible creature. You can see the fun picture I was able to get of the eagle and a family photo from our cold morning exploration for eagles.

Monkeying Around

Todd stayed home from school today to play with Grami and Grampy. We headed to the Children's Museum to experience the new Curious George exhibit and it did not disappoint. I loved the history of George and the kids loved everything else. Such a treat.
Speaking of treats, I am usually the mommy saying "NO" to the treats while I pass out the free stuff I brought from home, but today Grami and Grampy treated the boys to delicious piles of ice cream. You can see from the photos how good it was.

Overalls

There is just something about a little boy in overalls that makes me smile!
