Todd went to his first stick and puck morning on Sunday morning and had a great time. Jacy joined his ice hockey league about a year ago and has wanted to get Todd skating ever since. Todd is kind of a non-athletic kid and Jacy was happy to see how much Todd LOVED playing hockey. He was pretty tough until the very end when he fell and just kind of stayed on the ice, too tired to move.

You Can Ride With Us!
Last night I said goodbye to my trustworthy Hyundai Sonata. I really loved my car, but our family just wasn't fitting in it as well as was we had before Wylie made his arrival. Jacy knows how much I HATE car shopping, so he has been car shopping on his own for weeks and found a car he really liked. I went last night and test drove our new (new to us at least) Volvo. It is exactly what we were looking for and it successfully carried 4 adults and 2 kids this morning with some room to spare.

Pink Floyd
Todd took $10 out of his piggy bank this morning to buy something at the zoo. He fell in love with a stuffed pink flamingo and had to have it. We walked all over the zoo while he talked about buying a flamingo at the end of the day. He proudly purchased his new friend and we headed for the car. Usually Todd names his critters very blandly. Jacy and I grow weary of animals named "Puggy the Pug", "Owly the Owl" and "Cubby the Bear" to name a few. Todd, knowing this, asked for my help naming his flamingo. I started yelling out "FL" names like Fling, Flan, Flimflam and Floyd. Well Floyd stuck and when Todd introduced Jacy to Floyd tonight Jacy had a good laugh over Todd's new animal, Floyd the pink flamingo, hereafter renamed "Pink Floyd".
This is Why I Had Kids
I took my cute boys to the zoo today and they delighted me by enjoying each other so much. Wylie will not hold my hand anymore, but he will hold onto Todd whenever I ask him to. As Wylie gets older he and Todd squabble a lot more, but they find sweet moments to show each other how much they mean to each other. So sweet.
The zoo highlight for the kiddos was the new flamingo exhibit. I am posting some cute photos of them showing the flamingos their one legged poses.

Chris Graduates
We travelled to Walla Walla to celebrate Chris' grad from Walla Walla Comm College's Fire Science program. I am so proud of him. I snapped a great shot of Todd and Chris in their grad gowns. I had tucked Todd's into my trunk just in case we had a chance to have them pose together. It is my new favorite photo!

"It's My First Last Day of School"
Todd announced to me this morning that today was his first last day of school. I love that he has a great sense of accomplishment about this year and is already looking forward to more school milestones.
We started our day at the school and headed to a rainy day of fun at Enchanted Village. Todd is a big fan of fast rides since we enjoyed Disneyland. He made me take him on The Scrambler and I definitely felt scrambled by the time we were done. He also enjoyed all the kiddie rides, especially the frog jump. I included a picture of him and his school buds enjoying that one. He really wanted to go on the roller coaster, but that was a bit out of the question because of Wylie and the long line, so we compromised with a shorter line at the log ride. I put on my poncho and got in line (yes, Auntie Rhonda, I should have brought those Disneyland ponchos home with me). Let me just say that it is not false advertising when a ride has signs up that say, " you are going to get soaked." I did get soaked in every area my Walgreens poncho didn't cover. It was time to go home, I refuse to walk around public with hair that looks like I just got out of a shower. No need to worry though, we will be going back to Enchanted Village for Todd's second last day of school.

Pomp and Circumstance
Last night was Todd's Kindergarten Graduation. He was so cute in his red cap and gown. He made me proud when he read the scripture and I loved to see him get excited about watching his class in the slide show presentation. And, I admit, I was more than a bit amused when he tried to eat his tassle and then proceeded to see what it felt like in his nose. He is getting more mature and growing every day and yet is still a sweet little curious boy - a great
combin
ation.
Rainy Days at Disneyland
Our family took a trip to So.Cal to see the CA Nelsons and enjoyed a two day trip to Disneyland. Todd learned to love "scary" rides like Thunder Mountain and Wylie enjoyed all the kiddo rides and play areas. Bella, Brae, Auntie and Uncle joined us the second day and we had even more fun exploring Disney with cousins. Check out some pictures of us in our rain gear. Yeah for ponchos!!!
What the Young People are Up To
Todd and Wylie have been very amusing to me lately. I always find them fun and silly, but they have each developed a great love for their toys. Todd is absolutely enthralled with Indiana Jones and Wylie is busy with his new Thomas the train cars.
Jacy and I bought Todd an Indiana Jones hat at Disneyland and along with various toys from Nan he is "INDY". I love to see him excited about something I really like and so happy with his newfound hobby. He has also been enjoying the Young Indy Chronicles and makes up Indy adventures to go on.
Wylie's new passion is Thomas. He sits in the middle of a train track Jacy put together for him and makes train noises while he conducts the train around his track. He sits for minutes at a time and looks at his Thomas brochure and says "wow" as he admires them.
