Jacy and I were sitting at lunch today and realized that today was our first day in Japan 5 years ago. We can distinctly recall how we felt as we woke up that 1st day in our Navy accommodations - tired, overwhelmed a bit excited. We are so thankful for our 3 year vacation and all the joy and experiences that came our way. I found a few of my fave pics from our 1st year in Japan and now, I am really homesick!

If You've Seen One Store, You've Seen the Mall
I finally made it down to Southcenter to see the new wing and all that it contains. Of course the first stop on our tour (the kiddos were along) was the kid play area. Wylie loved it! It is pretty and clean and has some fun stuff in it. It needs to be about twice as large to fit all the kiddos in, but it is nice. After the play spot started to crowd up we went to check out the family lounge, which is amazing! It has nursing rooms with flat screen TVs, kid toilets with decorative seats, a play area and indented changing tables. Below is a picture of my kids playing in the bathroom!
The highlight of our tour was a stop at my favorite on-line shopping site, Crazy8. YEAH! I love this store and it didn't disappoint in person. I bought Todd a bunch of school clothes and browsed for Wylie and of course all the girlie stuff would look adorable on Marisa.

A Trip to the Dentist
Jacy pulled Todd's front tooth yesterday. Todd swallowed his first tooth and has been nervous about loosing teeth since. He was so excited about going to Daddy's office and having his very wiggly tooth removed. Todd was very brave although he did mention right at the point of removal, " now that is something that hurts."

Dash Point Fun
Today was the perfect afternoon. We stopped at Trader Joes for picnic supplies and headed to Dash Point to eat and hike. Todd insisted he bring his swim suit to play in the water and we let him but with several warnings that it would be too cold to get near the water. He was right though and after our trek the boys had a great time playing in the warm water of the sound. Check out Wylie's lovely swimming attire!

AHHHH Piroshky
While Mom and Todd attended a class at the aquarium this morning, Wylie and I headed up the hill to Pike Place Market. I went to my favorite bakery, Piroshky Piroshky, to get a rhubarb pastry. These are the best possible use of of sugar, rhubarb and dense pastry crust. Absolutely my favorite thing to eat in Seattle.
