The Great Kitchen Adventure

I just found this awful picture of what our kitchen looked like when we bought our house. So bad!!! Jacy painted the cabinets white right off the bat and it made such a big difference and now it is even better.

Cutie in the Scooby Doo Shades

I love it when I am sitting around the house and one of my kiddos comes out to amuse me with a silly costume or funny story. Wylie came to find me with his shades on yesterday and knew he had entertained me when I ran to grab my camera. So silly.

Play Ball

Today was our family's annual adventure to watch the Mariners play at Safeco Field. It was a really fun game (YEAH, the Mariners won) and it was nice to spend time with most of the Martin clan and our good family friends, the Tutykos. Can't wait til next year.

The Kitchen Will Be Completed Soon!

We ran into a techinical error, which my creative husband has made a plan to fix. Oh, we were so close to being done! In the mean time, I love not having to clean food out of grout between tiles on the countertop and I love having my sink hooked up again. Pictures will be posted someday soon, when everything is as it should be.

Steven Curtis Chapman Concert

Jacy and I went to the Puyallup Fair last Saturday night to hear Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith in concert. I have loved SCC since I went to one of his acoustic concerts about 17 years ago. He is so endearing and so creative and such a great musician.
I also love the fair and had to get my picture taken next to one of the grange exhibits. I love to see how each county lays out the crops from their area, it's like a giant quilt of fruit, veggies, eggs, honey, etc. Beautiful! I am also posting a great pic of Jacy enjoying his nachos which were not that good, but I didn't have my camera out for the scrumptious dipped ice cream and elephant ear.

Wylie at the Park

Here are some cute pictures I took of Wylie, and his friend Emmy, at the park yesterday.

The Kitchen

So my very handy husband is in week 2 of our kitchen remodel. He is doing this project in the evenings and has torn out walls and drywalled and painted and all that fun remodel stuff. He painted the walls last night and I think cabinets will start going up over the weekend. I am so proud of Jacy and his desire to learn how to do this and save us a few bucks. He is awesome and now I am making big plans for the bathroom!!!

Do the Puyallup

I headed to the Puyallup Fair yesterday with the boys, Mom, Kristen and Marisa. We had a perfect weather day and enjoyed all that the fair has to offer. Our highlights were watching a man get shot out of a cannon (only after I convinced Todd the man wouldn't catch on fire), fair scones, the grange exhibit (I love the vegetable displays, each county makes a huge "quilt" out of veggies) and RIDES. Todd is a ride fiend! We invested in a ride band for him so he could go on unlimited rides and he got our money's worth out of it. It was so fun to watch him enjoy all the fast rides like the tilt-o-whirl and the giant slide (14 times) that I loved as a kid. Wylie doesn't love rides as much as Todd does, he does like to look at the animals though, especially the dogs. Can't wait 'til next year!

Garage Sale

Last Friday we had our annual (2nd year) family garage sale at my house. Every year the family starts bringing their lovingly used goods to our garage and yard. We have the best location to bring in the masses. We have so much fun swapping stuff before the sale, having lunch together and watching my Aunt Becky refuse to haggle with pushy costumers. All of our proceeds this year are going to The National Brain Tumor Foundation and we made $515.oo! Whoopee!

Sunset Lake

This weekend was our family's 2nd trip to Sunset Lake with the Renton SDA Church. We don't even go to the Renton Church anymore, but every year they welcome us back for the campout. Jacy and I grew up loving church campouts and really love our kids hanging out with friends we have had for years and, of course, getting dirty. This year we had perfect weather, a great campfire meal of hotdogs, a hayride late at night to look for deer and some fun hikes. So, now I am cleaning up our camping gear and making a list to tuck into my day planner for next year's trip and enjoying new memories from the weekend.

Destruction

So we (and by we I mean Jacy) is in the demo mode of our kitchen remodel. You know how little boys like to build towers and then DESTROY them with a big stomp and a yell, that is what it is like in our home but with walls and power tools. My husband is so cool.

The Life of Wylie

Then
Now

Today is Wylie's 2nd birthday. He woke up sweet and happy today and journeyed to Tully's for his special chocolate milk box with a Thomas the Train sticker on in it (thanks Lindsay!!). We just finished riding his scooter and reading Gossie and Gertie over and over and now it is off to his first 2 year old nap. Happy Birthday to him!
