A Few of My Favorite Things
It's Getting Hot in Here
So the official temperature in my neck of the woods was 105 today. Jacy and I have enjoyed many a California summer and the mugginess of Japanese summers, but we had A/C for both. My hero came home with two little window units early this week and boy are we thankful for them. Our bedroom and TV room are liveable for almost the entire day and then we head next door to Papa's basement for some relief.

Bathroom Humor
The ladies in my family went to The Women of Faith conference last week at The Key Arena in Seattle. The conference center always makes the men's restrooms into ladies restrooms since there are only a handful of men present. I just happened to have my camera in the bathroom to capture this moment (note I blurred out my victim's face so you don't know it's my mom). The best part of the moment was the 4 or 5 seventy year old ladies who saw me do it and had a friend take the funniest picture of them lined up next to the potties.

An Amazing Weekend
Yes, it's 11am on Sunday and I am still wearing my PJs. My fabulous weekend wore me out! Todd, Wylie and I had one of those amazing days on Friday where all the kiddo/mama stars aligned to create a blessed and fun outing with no bumps in the road. We began at Target (what good day doesn't start at Target) headed to The Seattle Children's Museum with a stop at the big fountain for our picnic and then proceeded to the Pacific Science Center for a great exhibit about animal poop. Jacy was in Seattle for a dental convention so we hooked up with him and he took my cute monkeys home while I stayed in Seattle for dinner and the Women of Faith convention with my girl family. To accommodate my kiddos and me the lovely ladies in the fam decided to faith it up in Seattle this year instead of Portland, thanks ladies!
I love Women of Faith and was beyond THRILLED to listen to my favorite speaker Patsy Clairmont and hear Steven Curtis Chapman all in one night. SCC was amazing as usual and I was sitting right near the performers exit and had a short thank you shout out to Mr. Chapman as he walked by, he is so gracious and kind. Wish I was the kind of person who could ask for pictures with him, but always feel like "famous" people might need a break from that. Anyway, home late from a great night and up early for a full day of WoF conferencing. More fun and blessings.
Home now and enjoying my lazy day with two cute little boys who are also still in their PJs while Daddy takes a quick trip to Oregon to see a relative who is not feeling so good.
Pictures to follow as I consolidate cameras and camera cards. If anyone is interested check out SCC website to find out why he is one of my all time favorite entertainers and musicians. www.stevencurtischapman.com

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium
Today's adventure was a trip to see the critters at the Tacoma zoo. The Boys and I gathered up some of our favorite kiddos and mamas (Jenn and Mika, Shawna, Jackson and Jas and Kristen and Marisa) and headed out. Check out our collage of the day. I LOVE the picture of Jas and Wylie comparing their owies, it is my favorite. It captures their laid back, rough and tumble personalities so well and will be a great memory for this mama to cherish when Wylie is a big kid someday.

Connected
Yesterday was a great day spent with friends. The kids and I headed to NW Trek with some of our favorite people, the McCullohs and the Brayleys. I love that I have mama friends that can chat all day long with while our kids can happily play. We checked out all the animals and the kids ran and played hard. I wrapped up the day with book club, which is one of the highlights of my month. Last night's chat lasted almost 5 hours and I came home at midnight to tell Jacy, once again, how much I love my group. I am feeling connected this morning and happy to be blessed by wonderful friends.

Do You See What I See???
Apparently Todd couldn't see what we see, but now he can. We noticed he was not seeing so well on a trip to see Daddy at the dentist. Todd was trying to read the comics on the ceiling above the dental chair and couldn't read the captions. I took him to the eye doctor and he definitely needed some glasses. He loves his new glasses and the world they have opened up for him. He especially loves yelling "four eyes" at Papa and cracking up when Papa yells it back at him.
Check out Todd in his new glasses in the blog photo below.

Summer Checklist
The boys and I made a giant list of everything we wanted to do this summer. One of the items on our list was "playdate with Evan" and we happily marked it off the list today. Evan and Todd are classmates and they had a great time catching up. We had a great afternoon of water fun with a short video game break, of course.
