Merry Surprise Christmas

Todd, Rhonda, Bella and Brae surprised us last week by showing up on our door step. They drove from So Cal in some of the worst weather imagineable to spend two days playing with us. It was the BEST Christmas surprise I have ever had!

Snow What Fun

We have snow, but so does everyone else, so it's not that big of a deal anymore.

Advent Worship

Last Christmas, our friend Brad, made us a beautiful Advent log. Jacy had told Brad about having Advent worship as a kid and how much he wanted to make the candle holder for it. Brad made one for us and his family. Jacy and I had it ready to go on December 1st and every day we light another candle as we get closer to Christmas. We watch the candles, read our Christmas story and then the boys get to snuff out the candles. A great tradition continues.

It's the Most Delicious Time of the Year!

It's Christmas and that means that Jacy starts baking cookies. He made me my favorite Christmas cookies from his Grandpa Nelson's recipe box, chocolate drop cookies. Scrumptious and one of my favorite things about Christmas.

It's Beginning to Feel Like Christmas

The family and I have been doing some fun "Christmasy" activities to get us more into the Holiday spirit. Thursday night we went to Auburn Academy's Journey to Bethlehem program. A great walking tour through "Bethlehem" in search of Baby Jesus. The Academy Church built a permanent city structure for the yearly event and it is amazing. The highlight for Wylie was seeing the camels. He was in awe of them!

Last night we headed to Lake Washington for Clam Lights with my Mom's Group. The park is covered with Christmas lights including five statues of running clams (see picture above because I don't know how to describe that). The night is complete with the parade of boats covered in lights that pass the park.

Merry Christmas!
