Project Beautification

Jacy and I have been attempting a few small beautification projects around our house. Round one included putting attic fans in to keep our house a bit cooler. Jacy and Grandpa crawled up there early one morning and Jacy learned how to carry tools and assist an expert. Round two included Jacy hanging the shutters I ordered and me working on our ugly yard. We also made a cute headboard out of canvas and fabric that I love. It makes our bedroom so much cuter. Round three through one hundred involve some demo and a bit more elbow grease, stay tuned!!!

A Great Day

Yesterday was a fabulous day.

The boys and I started with a trip to the zoo with our good friends, the Smiths (+ relatives). We love David and Janelle and their 3 girlies and are so happy they are back on our continent and on the west coast again!

Todd finished up his week of Vacation Bible School and I ended my duties in the craft room. We both had a great year and are already looking forward to next year.

And FINALLY, what I have been looking forward to for months - The Beijing Olympics!!! The Olympics are big at our house, really big. Jacy picked up our faves from The Golden Peacock and the McCullohs came over to watch the opening ceremonies with us.

Fabulous.

Skim Boarding

Jacy and I were at the beach a few weeks ago and watched some kids skim boarding and thought "we could do that!". So we bought a board and headed down to Dash Point this afternoon to try out our new toy. I have decided that the best way to learn how to use a skim board is to be a teenager and athletic. Jacy and I, as you know, are neither. We hope to be better at skim boarding next time we go or maybe just use to being not very good at it. It was fun though!

Kid's Day

Yesterday was a great day at our house. We had the Patrick kids here all day and Marisa came in the afternoon. I love to watch the next generation of kiddos spending their days playing and having fun.

Swim Camp

Todd just finished up a week of swim camp. He was thrilled with his certificate of recognition. He learned a lot of new skills and had a great time, especially learning some saving skills. Check out the picture of him being "saved" wearing his clothes. He thought that was a hoot.
